Brian Dugan RIP
At about 9pm on Wednesday September 15th, I was at the intersection of Sheridan and Belmont, the scene of two recent motorcycle accidents which I also happened to be in the area on those days. Yesterday was more personal and tragic for I am sure many people. Brian Dugan, 37 a Ken-ton teacher father of 2 was struck by a car driven by an elderly female Beverly Waltz, 75. Often, to find out what is going on I will text my family to watch the news. Fear is always a factor when witnessing such a tragedy in your hometown, and hope that your children or you do not know the person. My daughter, as many students that attended or attend Kenmore West knew Brian Dugan, was watching the news at noon today and was utterly crushed. She had him as a teacher and formed a bond as I am sure many other students have. He was a teacher that my daughter spoke of often, even after graduation. This tragedy will run deep in our community. Brian Dugan was loved by all and will be sorely missed by many, our familys thoughts and prayers’ go out to his family, friends, co-workers, and students past and present.
There is talk of an impromptu memorial gathering at Sheridan and Belmont tonight at 8pm.
IF YOU ATTEND TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR HIS FAMILY PLEASE BE SAFE WEAR BRIGHT COLORED CLOTHES, CARRY AND USE A FLASHLIGHT, AND STAY ON THE SIDEWALKS WELL AWAY FROM TRAFFIC.
GODSPEED Brian Dugan
