Kill Your Husband Collect $400,000

Teressa Turner-Schaefer 25 “accidentally” stabbed and killed her husband Erin

“The six-inch blade sliced through Erin’s lung, pericardium and pulmonary artery.”

and get out of jail in 11 month (she as charged with first degree murder) and collects a $400,000 life insurance policy. She has the blessings of the judge Circuit Court Judge Rossie D. Alston Jr, “I have come to find out that you are apparently a very decent person” to go on with her life.

“In jail She had took every life-skills class offered and GED. She attended religious services and Bible study. She cooperated with counselors trying to help her overcome years of abuse, neglect and despair.”

Well then that makes it all OK.

The author Tamara Jones Washington Post Staff Writer ARTICLE HERE of the article I read seem to paint Teressa as a victim. She is broke and has no money (what!?), she has never had a job, does not know how to drive, and has no idea how she is going to pay rent on her $1,5000 a month split level house. $1,500?! Um, move but then again why bother you have no money so the church payed it for. When I was working my mortgage was not that much. She got a loan from a neighbor good Samaritan 76-year-old Earl Hardy’s to buy a $6,700 used SUV. He put it on a Discover card. This was all after he taught Teressa how to drive. He spent five hours waiting at the DMV for her to take her driving test. He also put money in her Oh by the way the van needs major repairs that she cannot afford (why would you buy a $7,000 vehicle that needs major repairs?)

The author Tamara Jones and Teressa Turner-Schaefer paint a picture like someone else killed her husband. Here is an example:

“Bearing jail commissary gifts for her three small children — cheap radios, little toothbrushes, plastic combs — she forces herself to return to the Dale City split-level where she killed her husband, Erin, making the place where his life ended the one where hers is beginning again.

“It’s all I have left of him,” she rationalizes.”

“Her first weekend home from jail, they came over to celebrate an early Thanksgiving with the relatives and friends who had shown up in court to support her. Etta and Earl Hardy walked over from next door with a huge casserole of macaroni and cheese, while Teressa’s mother, Maria, fussed over a turkey in the small kitchen that Teressa couldn’t yet bear to enter.”

They also paint the old and tired rhetoric of the tough childhood. Yes she had one so did I, so did many others.

She lands a seasonal job at the Ann Taylor store where her sister already works, and takes delight in folding sweaters just so. The employee discount seduces her into spending too much of her part-time paycheck on pretty outfits, she realizes, “but I need clothes for work.”

Ya think? Maybe because of these insurances forms that she had to fill out she knows she has $400,000 coming because she killed her husband. I have to wonder if it was a $200,000 policy and she received a double indemnity.

She bough a new car, a cell phone, new furniture, goes to college, vacations with her family, I hope someone is going to look after the Hardy’s?

Did you know that it is tough to get a job as a felon> Did you know she still loves Erin?

I thought there was a law where you could not profit from your crime(s)!

  1. This is truly sick she should still be in jail and no way should she get all that money.

  2. Erin was my son. He was a good man and a wonderful father. His life revolved around his family and trying to provide for them. There was no justice in the court for the many lives that she destroyed that day.

  3. Like the OJ Simpson affair, prosecute the matter now in “Civil Court”! What the hey!

  4. Erin was my step-son. Not one day has gone by since he was killed by her that I don’t think about him. He loved his wife, his children, his siblings and his parents and oh my, he loved life…she had no right to take him from all of us.

The worst part of this is, neither his mother or his father or his brothers and sisters will get to see his children again…they will grow up and not know the man their father truely was.

  5. Dee,

I do not know what to say other than I am so sorry. This is why I blog on these things to get the word out about the heinous wrongs.

  6. Maybe she can help Teresa Lewis from Virginia, no?

  7. Fast forward to 2016. Teressa’s children do not live with her. They are scattered, not living with eachother either. She had a 4th child who also doesn’t live with her. I don’t know what she spent her $400k on, other than a pair of boobs. Certainly wasn’t on her children.

  8. Hi, I don’t know you, you don’t know me. But you obviously never met my mother….she was a victim either he died or she did. I don’t think you understand how it hurts everyday to see her with tears in her eyes. I was young when it happened and I wish it could have been prevented.. however it could not. So much about my mom has changed she stopped alot of things including poetry…
