Inside Joke: Fun at the Expense of a Former Co-worker

Catch of the day: Town of Tonawanda angler hooks missile
Air-to-air weapon is picked up in Lake Erie, kept for 10 days

TOWN OF TONAWANDA, NY – A sports fisherman reeled in a missile in Lake Erie and kept it in his locker at work for 10 days, authorities in New York said. But an Air Force spokesman said the missile wasn’t live and posed no danger.

Police said the boat owner, Nick, hooked the air-to-air guided missile 5 miles off the coast of Buffalo. The Air Force and Navy use the area for weapons training.

Nick had the missile in his locker for 10 days before another co-worker spotted it in locker.

A bomb squad was called in from Niagara Falls Air Force Base and dismantled the missile in an empty parking lot.

Lt. Col. Tadd Sholtis said in a statement that contrary to initial media reports, the missile “had an inert, nonexplosive telemetry warhead that was never in danger of exploding.”

The bomb squad said the missile was very corroded from floating in polluted water for a long time.

Hey everybody since I cannot post this there (those on the inside know who and what I am talking about) I am having just a little fun from afar. Miss you guys and NS this is just for fun (are you going to add this to your class? LOL) I instantly thought of you when reading this and it gave me a good chuckle.
