Gay Marriage Nixed

The California Supreme Court nixed Proposition 8, same sex marriage. They did however allow those that were married while the state allowed same sex marriage to stay married.

This was a good decision. The original idea of marriage was not just dedication to each other but also to have children. Without science this would not be possible by a gay female couple and is still impossible for a gay male couple.

Furthermore, it is fact that children do better with a traditional family structure. It is true that some heterosexual couples marry and do not and cannot have children but if that is know in the religious community in particular Catholic they are not supposed to be able to be married in church. Gay, unwilling, and unable couples may take offense but truly marriage is about the two fold purpose of becoming one. This is not complete until a child is born of both the people in the union. If you clear your mind and think about it this makes perfect sense.

  1. So what happens if one of the gay couples divorce, and then decide to remarry? I can see some nutty gay activists (who were the ones who got married before the Prop 8 vote) try to pull some stunt like that.

  2. Ah, Clever NewsGuy BUT there is a precedent for that already. It is the drinking age. Some were legal at 18 then not at 18 and then legal again at 19 when the law changed again. Sooooooo, if they divorce, they cannot remarry until the law changes again, and I hope that does not change again.

As you also infer, without the intervention of science it’s impossible for many heterosexual couples to have children too. There are also plenty of heterosexual couples that my vote would be for them not to have kids (and that’s because I love kids).

I was raised Catholic and in all my years don’t ever remember hearing anything about not being able to marry if you can’t have kids.

  4. Patty have you never heard that there are two parts to a marriage, the ratum and consumatum?
